Our dear YT friend Christine T asked Cute Cats Kwazi and Uli to share some sites in Hawaii with viewers. Well, here we feature a beach park near us, facing Mokoli’i Island, that we go to occasionally to enjoy a picnic. During this windy November day, and the usually elegant Egrets looked very funny with their feathers ruffled, so we recorded them and their Red-Crested Cardinal friends. Fun facts, below. : ) Please comment, like and share 🐾🐾😼&😼

From Wikipedia: Mokolii Island, also known as Chinaman’s Hat because of its shape, is a popular spot for taking pictures on Oahu’s windward coast.

The red-crested cardinal (Paroaria coronata) is a songbird with a prominent red head and crest. This species belongs in the family of the tanagers(Thraupidae).[2] Notwithstanding its similar name, this bird is not closely related to the true cardinal family (Cardinalidae).
It is found in northern Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil’s Rio Grande do Suland the Pantanal. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and heavily degraded former forest. Among other regions, it is found in southern part of the Pantanal. It has also been introduced to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

The cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a species of heron (family Ardeidae) found in the tropics, subtropics and warm temperate zones. It is the only member of the monotypic genus Bubulcus, although some authorities believe it is related to the western cattle egret and the eastern cattle egret. Despite the similarities in plumage to the egrets of the genus Egretta, it is more closely related to the herons of Ardea. Originally native to parts of Asia, Africa and Europe, it has undergone a rapid expansion in its distribution and successfully colonised much of the rest of the world in the last century. It is a white bird adorned with buff plumes in the breeding season. It nests in colonies, usually near bodies of water and often with other wading birds. Their feeding habitats include seasonally inundated grasslands, pastures, farmlands, wetlands and rice paddies. They often accompany cattle or other large mammals, catching insect and small vertebrate prey disturbed by these animals.
